Namun nggak heran, semangat para pembalapnya tetep tinggi banget. Semua mereka bangkit lagi, bersihin debu, nunjukin kalau mereka oke, dan sambil senyum-senyum, mereka nyuruh kita bahwa mereka siap buat coba lagi dalam pertarungan gila para pecinta adrenalin ini.

Malaka is an idyllic Indonesian village located in North Lombok. With views north to the Gili islands, the area is a breathtaking mix of high cliffs and beautiful white sand beaches all of which hold views of the crystal clear blue sea that is the Lombok Strait.
To get there, is something of a mission in itself. It’s a cool 170 km, including a car ferry sea crossing from Bali. But that didn’t faze Dede Juntha, our man who is all things moto, in fact, he rode one of the Deus Temple bikes over there to meet Dewa Dimas. Dewa had driven over earlier, carrying his specially prepared motocross bike for this highly popular and much anticipated event.
Hill Climb Lombok Utara isn’t for the faint hearted, it’s one of those competitions that taunts the daredevils amongst us to unleash the horsepower of their bikes, pushing themselves and their machines to the limits all the while picking the best route up the steep 200-meter climb.
Dewa Dimas had the Deus KTM 350 running at peak performance, he was dialed in to unleash some high-revving fun but he had his eyes and hopes set on securing the highest position up the challenging cliff. The friendly yet unusually somber atmosphere amongst the participants underwrote the fierceness and competitiveness of the day. As the sun rose and headed west, the day and the competition both heated up with the roar of engines and the audience on hand echoing around the valley and into late afternoon.
For anyone who has been to a hill climb, you’ll know the day holds those moments where the crowd goes silent from fear as we watch a rider fail to conquer gravity, then slowly slip backwards, picking up speed and finally descending into a heap of agony towards the base of the cliff.
Surprisingly, the spirits of those riders never diminished, to a man, they pick themselves up, dust off, signaled that they were okay and with a smile that creased their dial, they reassured us that they were ready to have another go in this reckless battle of adrenaline junkies.
