Not many events offer free reign over arguably the best natural terrain moto park in Australia, especially for those pre-1995 riding enthusiasts. So when Zye Norris sent an invitation to the Deus office we were all ears and excited to check out what all the fuss was about.
The Conondale Classic, now in its second year, put simply was a gigantic amusement park for grown men with twitching wrists and an unhealthy passion for vintage 2 wheelers.
Workshops, trade alley’s, show & shines and live demonstrations were some of the eye catching entertainment on display, and thats before mentioning the series of courses which supplied the festival with a symphonic buzz from vintage bikes hitting top speeds.
There were two MX tracks Pre-78 and Open Pre-95, a vinduro loop, trials area and incredible grass track for all riders captured within a non-competitive and inclusive environment which is something we’ve always valued under the various Deus roofs.
Although Deus poster boy Zye Norris had some mechanical issues early in the piece, It didn’t stop us from immersing ourselves in the wonderland that was The Conondale Classic.
All in all an awesome event and we’d recommend staying tuned for the event next year. Its one hell of a time, and we are keen as mustard to get back there.
Special thanks to Robbie Warden for putting together the event, to everyone who was apart of the weekend and camera handyman Hunter Vercoe for putting together this videotape.
